REFLEXÕES SOBRE A TRADUÇÃO PEDAG´ÓGICA
Resumen
This article presents several discussions about the use of translation in language teaching in order to better understand the relationship between both areas. Throughout the history of teaching-learning languages, the translation has played different roles, sometimes marked by protagonism, as in the Grammar Methodology Translation (MGT) and sometimes by forgetfulness in the approaches deriving from the Direct Method. Nowadays, however, it has gained space in the discussions about the new perspectives of the communicative approach, including its own nomenclature: Pedagogical Translation. With the increase of its popularity are necessary the study and the definition of that term. The purpose of this article is to contribute to the clarification of what is Pedagogical Translation and how it has been understood by scholars, as well as to discuss the contributions of this tool to the areas of language teaching and translator training.
