Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text has a minimum length of 12 and a maximum of 30 pages, with 1.5 spacing; uses Calibri font size 12; figures and tables are inserted in the text and identified with titles and sources, not at the end of the document, as attachments.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The copyright belongs to the author and grants the journal Tocantinense de Geografia, free of charge, the right of first publication, with the text licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License and mediawiki.org/wiki/User:Revista_Tocantinense_de_Geografia

In order to submit articles to Revista Tocantinense de Geografia, it is necessary to register, in order to facilitate contact between the editorial board and the authors. When the file is submitted, the system sends an email to the corresponding author informing about the submission of the manuscript. The editorial process starts with checking the submission rules. If the text is outside the norms it will be returned for adequacy. Thus, to speed up the editorial process, authors are recommended to submit their manuscripts, strictly, in accordance with the journal's rules.

Original articles that are in conformity with the journal's standards will be evaluated by the Editorial Board. If corrections are made, the author will be informed and he, in turn, will have a maximum period of 30 days to make the necessary adjustments to be forwarded for a new assessment of merit. Any return of work will be accompanied by substantiated justification. The works approved by the Editorial Board will have their technical-scientific merit evaluated by two or three experts on the subject, who will evaluate the articles, reviews and essays.

Frequency

Revista Tocantinense de Geografia has a four-monthly publication. Articles are received and published as submitted and at the end of the four months the edition is closed.

All the magazine's content has free access, with the purpose of ensuring the dissemination of knowledge.

Mission

Allow the dissemination of knowledge in Geography and related areas through articles and scientific essays by local, regional, national and international researchers, with the purpose of contributing to the debate around issues related to geographic space, society and education.

References and citations

The texts must be presented with a minimum length of 08 and a maximum of 20 pages, with 30 lines, spaced 1.5, format A-4, using the font Calibri, size 12. Use the template of the magazine.
The header must contain the title (and subtitle, if any, centralized) in Portuguese and in a foreign language. You should not enter the author's name to guarantee a blind evaluation.
The text must be accompanied by an abstract in Portuguese and an abstract in Spanish, Italian, French or English, with a maximum of 250 words, in single space and a list of up to 5 keywords that identify the content of the text.
4 - The text structure must be divided into unnumbered parts and with subtitles. It is essential to contain an introduction, objective, methodology, discussion of results and conclusion or final considerations, references.

Footnotes should not be used for references. This feature can be used when extremely necessary and each note must have around 3 lines.
Long text citations (more than 3 lines) must constitute an independent paragraph. Mentions of ideas and / or information throughout the text must be subordinate to the scheme (Author's last name, date) or (Author's last name, date, page).
Ex .: (CARLOS, 1991) or (CARLOS, 1991, p.25). If the author's name is mentioned in the text, only the date in parentheses is indicated. Ex .: "In this regard, Orlando Valverde dealing with ... (1985)". Different titles by the same author published in the same year must be identified by a lower case letter after the date. Ex .: (SANTOS, 2005a), (SANTOS, 2005b).

The bibliography must be presented at the end of the work, in alphabetical order
surname of the author (s). It is recommended to use the More tool for the elaboration of references.

DOSSIER

The Revista Tocantinense de Geografia from 2022 opened the section for Dossier. As requested by authors and decision of the editorial board, themes will be chosen for the submission of texts in the journal.
