A case study of bus stations

Abstract

This work discusses bus stations in Palmas. The objective was to verify the physical infrastructure of public passenger transport stations in the city. The study was based on bibliographical, documentary and case research. After 30 years of emancipation in 2019, the city was planned, but it has problems like in other places. Thus, like other medium and large cities in Brazil, Palmas has problems with urban mobility in public transport. The survey took place in January 2019, at three stations in the city. Thus, thirty-three interviews were carried out, subdivided into three stations, being the southern region, the central region and the northern region. During the field activity and conducting the interviews, it was possible to identify a constant flow of people moving to different places in the city due to their commitments. After analyzing the information, it was noted that the Public Transport (TP) bus stations in Palmas need improvements in physical infrastructure to better serve users with more quality and comfort.
