A question of otherness between tourists and residents

Taking into account tourism with all its complexity and relationships resulting from this phenomenon, this paper addresses tourism phobia as a result of the excess of tourists in certain places. So that they fill some tourist cities, which do not have an appropriate infrastructure to receive this contingent. Furthermore, the alterity between tourists and residents is analyzed, taking into account the concept of mass tourism. In order to carry out this research, bibliographical readings and analysis of documentaries about the chosen topic were necessary, such as the documentary: “Tourist, go away! Europe's dream destinations at risk”, emphasizing the conflicts between residents and tourists on the European continent, presenting the reality of this phenomenon that is becoming global. Thus, we consider that the excess of tourists in tourist regions is the main cause of the problem in question.
