Abstract

The flags of demand raised by binational kokama indigenous populations, geographically located in the municipality of Atalaia do Norte in Amazonas on the international border with Peru. This indigenous community lives on the banks of the Javari River in a troubled area of brutality that distinguishes the territorial division of this border. Based on exploratory research and applications of mixed techniques in the field, such as active research, open interviews, observation and description of activities, they were fundamental for gathering information for the study. To this end, this work's main objective was to point out its main developments in demands and its social movements in favor of identity recognition, in the face of the denial of local institutions.
