Abstract

Trails have been a cultural element present in human history, serving as pathways of communication between different inhabited or visited places, meeting the needs for transportation, exploration of new territories, and the search for resources such as food and water. In the municipalities of Muritiba and São Félix, there already exists an informal trail system, where guides lead visitors through areas that include waterfalls, streams, hills, forests, and even rugged terrain. The aim of this work was to identify, map, and characterize an ecological trail, classifying it into different difficulty levels. This is intended to enhance the experience for various audiences and explore its tourist potential. The process involved three methodological stages: a bibliographic research to understand the environment, field data collection to comprehend its specific features, and georeferenced data processing to create thematic maps. The final outcome is a map displaying the various difficulty levels of the trail, highlighting sensitive areas that require protection to prevent excessive degradation and minimize environmental impact. This not only enhances the visitors' experience but also contributes to the conservation of these natural areas and their economic potential while preserving the environment.

Undergraduate student in Interdisciplinary Bachelor's in Environmental Sciences at UFRB (Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia). Member of PET (Tutorial Education Program) - Socioenvironmental.

Maria Eduarda de Jesus Bomfim, Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia

Undergraduate student in Biological Sciences (Bachelor's degree) at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB). Member of the UFRB Herbarium (HURB) and the Geosciences Laboratory (LabGeo).

Grênivel Mota da Costa, Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia

Graduated in Biological Sciences (2007), master's degree (2010), and Ph.D. (2014) in Sciences (Botany) from the State University of Feira de Santana. Currently employed as an Administrative Technician in Education, specializing in Biology, at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia, assigned to the Recôncavo da Bahia Herbarium. Throughout academic training, conducted studies in Environmental Education, following the perspective of Paulo Freire's work. In postgraduate studies, focused on structural and floristic aspects in Cerrado vegetation (with a focus on the effects of fire on vegetation) and functional approaches in the Caatinga. Also has experience in surveys of aquatic plants and Atlantic Forest.

Marcus Vinicius Costa Almeida Junior, Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia

Has a degree in Geology (2011), master's degree (2014), and Ph.D. (2021) in Geology from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). Associate professor at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB), responsible for the curricular components of General Geology, Quaternary Geology, Geodiversity and Geoconservation, and Elements of Mineralogy and Petrology. Has experience in the field of Geosciences, focusing on the following topics: Whole-rock Geochemistry, Pb-Pb and U-Pb Geochronology in zircon, Petrography, Geological and Geo-environmental Mapping, Cartography, and Geoprocessing. Also engaged in scientific outreach through digital media.
