Abstract

This article deals with the absence of afforestation in the São João neighborhood in Araguaína – TO. Its purpose is to show one of the problems that affect this neighborhood, above all the quality of life of the residents and the population that move through the study area. In addition to bringing several benefits to society, urbanization also changes the urban landscape, thus creating a better relationship between nature and society. The work was carried out based on the theoretical contribution pertinent to the theme, in locus observations, and photographic records of streets in the Bairro São João. It was found that the structure of the streets makes it difficult to implement and implement afforestation, given that, in the streets, there are ditches on the sidewalks, and electricity transmission lines on both the right and left sides of some streets.
