Abstract: Throughout the history (nonlinear) of Geographical Science, some concepts have been approached with the objective of understanding the real, be it social or natural. The purpose of this reflection consists specifically of a bias in the subfield of Human Geography that, in its production, has been concerned with the social perspectives of reality (although, it is not possible to separate the natural and the social clearly, only theoretical and elucidative). In this sense, this short essay tries to understand how some authors and author have thought some geographic concepts - space, scale and place - and how such concepts relate to the concept of power. In addition, the proposal still goes to a practical example of instrumentalization of these concepts through social relations (of power), when using Cartography as responsible for the tension of hegemonic power at various scales. It is important to emphasize that this reflection is not about objectifying the exhaustion of the discussions regarding these concepts, nor does it have a sufficient framework for this purpose. However, it consists of a reflection that proposes to establish a starting point to think Geography in the present time and its relation with the society.
