Abstract

This editorial announces the strategic restructuring of the Arquivos Brasileiros de Educação Física (ABEF), an open-access, peer-reviewed journal in the fields of Physical Education, Sports Sciences, and Human Movement. It presents the new editorial governance, featuring a geographically decentralized board of Associate Editors to ensure impartiality and transparency in decision-making processes. It describes the strengthening of methodological rigor, with an emphasis on the editorial screening (Desk Review) and the double-blind peer review system, involving at least two ad hoc reviewers. The thematic scope of the journal is delineated, encompassing Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics; Sports Training and Human Movement Performance; Physical Activity, Health, and Chronic Diseases; Physical Activity Epidemiology; School Physical Education and Pedagogy; Public Health, Psychology, and Sociocultural Aspects. It highlights the adoption of the continuous publication model, open access without fees, and the acceptance of submissions in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. It concludes with an invitation to the scientific community to submit original articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, clinical trials, and case studies, reaffirming ABEF's commitment to excellence, ethics, and impact in sports science.
