Introduction: the factors that interfere in the success of the Elite Sports (ES) are already well known and the information management is fundamental so that the organizations of the sport can take advantage of the data involved in the success of the sport management. Objective: this study aims to describe the characteristics and the way of implementing a computerized information management model of Elite Sports. Methods: by means of exploratory research, from qualitative and quantitative methods the management dimensions were selected and the data were cataloged in a MySQL database (DB), considering the principles of information management. Using an Entity-Relationship Model, DB was modeled to allow articulation between dimensions and permanent updating of ES information. Results: the ES's computerized information management model is comprised of eight dimensions that encompass international sports success factors and uses the principles of Business Intelligence (BI). Comprised of Financial Resources information; Sports Infrastructure; Entities and Governance; Sports Equipment and Supplies; Athletes and Sports Professionals; Sports Events and Results; Science and Technology; and, Legislation, allows for intra or interdimensional analyzes and uni or multisport (multilevel analysis). Conclusion: the model can be implemented in a country, as well as in one or several sports entities. By inserting BI in sports management, this work provides the most important information for managers' decision making, qualifying the policies and contributing to efficient communication between the entities related to the ES.
