Abstract

In the texts Las Madres de la Plaza de Mayo, Las Abuelas detectives and Tamara vuela dos veces, which make up the work Memoria del fuego: el siglo del viento, the writer Eduardo Galeano proposes to narrate the strategies of struggles and resistance undertaken by Argentinean mothers and grandmothers in the confrontation with the power exercised by the military dictatorship, in the years from 1970 to 1984, in the search for their children and grandchildren who were kidnapped and/or disappeared in police operations and/or death squads in the country. Therefore, the objective of this research was to understand, based on Eduardo Galeano's narratives, the struggles and the resistance, via memory, of the Plaza de Mayo's mothers and grandmothers to the Argentine dictatorship. The methodological procedures relied on bibliographic research and textual analysis, supported in particular by the Bakhtinian concepts of polyphony and dialogism. In the weaving of the narratives different enunciative voices emerge, voices that are not confused with those of the author or the author-creator/narrator, but together they compose a meaningful whole. This produces in the reader the need to understand the enunciative process in the Galean composition, as well as the different actors and principles that govern them.
