This article aims to discuss the intersection between testimonial literature and the literature of migratory flows, in order to verify how these two fields of study interconnect. In the first part, it revisits key concepts from the testimonial literature, in order to present the theoretical foundation adopted for the discussion. In the second part, it analyzes the text In der Fremde sprechen die Bäume Arabisch written by Usama Al Shahmani. The novel makes use of different strategies to find a verbal form, capable of approaching the exposition of the atrocities perpetrated in Iraq.
