Abstract

From the studies in Pêcheux (1993), Osakabe (1999) and Orlandi (2001), we analyze the discursive images of the Portuguese teacher of the compulsory education presupposed in the PROFLETRAS presentation texts, discussing how they relate to the context of the evaluation learning systems in contemporary Brazil. We have verified that the images of the less qualified teacher and the ideal teacher rely under the discourse of continued qualification and these images justify forms of intervention present in the actual educational scenery, which becomes a “new discourse” of teaching quality.
