VERBOS DE MOVIMENTO EM VIDAS SECAS
UMA ANÁLISE FUNCIONAL-COGNITIVA

O artigo apresenta uma análise de verbos de movimento na obra Vidas Secas, de Graciliano Ramos, com base na tipologia de Talmy (2000) e um modelo funcional-cognitivo de construção gramatical (Croft, 2001). Propõe-se, aqui, a Construção Predicação de Evento de Movimento, que abarca um conjunto de estratégias gramaticais que expressam eventos de movimento. Foram encontrados 87 verbos de movimento na obra. Os resultados das análises mostram preferência pelas estratégias intransitiva e sujeito-oblíquo. No plano discursivo, nota-se uma preferência pela construção de instanciação nula definida (Fillmore, 1986). Os resultados, em conjunto, provêm evidência para a relação entre cognição, gramática e texto.
