Abstract

The agrarian reform aims to promote better land distribution, thus contributing to the country's development. This article aims to contextualize aspects that constitute Agrarian Reform in Brazil, using the concept of the state, social movements and the vision of some researchers in the field of study. The methodology used was a bibliographic review in books, articles related to the topic addressed and data from research carried out by INCRA in settlements. According to what was researched, Agrarian Reform never actually took place. Thus, it is necessary to implement  public policies  that limit large estates.
