The effervescent discussion on the environmental issue has given rise in recent decades to a multiplicity of knowledge areas focused on risk management, occupied by a diversity of researchers, with different academic backgrounds, which leads us to question the loss of space for the geographer. in that field. In the work “The Risks of Man as an Aggressor and Victim of the Environment” Yvette Veyret, one of the world's leading authorities on risks, professor of geography at the University of Paris X, Nanterre, president of the French National Committee for Geography and author of several publications, addresses the particularities that involve risk management, from a geographic perspective that allows us to broaden the view on the role of the geographer in this process.
