In geographic science, networks operationalize the spatial organization of infrastructure, productive activities and flows of goods and services. The aim of this article is to review the evolution of the concept of technical networks in a geographic perspective, considering their role in the realization of flows of goods and services that circulate through infrastructure and socioeconomic dynamics in geographic space. This study was developed through a literature review to discuss the trajectories of thematic approaches and concepts of networks, with an emphasis on technical networks and on the flows of goods and services based on geographical and interdisciplinary studies.
