Abstract

This study presents a bibliometric analysis of scientific production related to Environmental Education and the SDGs in the Northern Region of Brazil. The Northern Region of Brazil, characterized by its vast biodiversity, cultural richness, and global environmental importance, faces major social, educational, and ecological challenges. The objective of this research is to analyze scientific production on environmental education in the context of the Northern Region of Brazil from 2015 to 2025, identifying its articulation with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a bibliometric approach. The methodology is characterized as pure (or basic) and descriptive research, as it collects information from other sources, details the extracted data, and contextualizes them within the analyzed sample. It employs a mixed quantitative-qualitative approach, using an integrative literature review as the technical procedure. The results demonstrate a progressive growth in publications, especially since 2020, indicating the strengthening of the environmental agenda in the academic community of the Northern Region, driven by national education policies and the incorporation of the SDGs into pedagogical plans. The magazines REMEA, REAMEC and Revista Sergipana de Educação Ambiental stood out as the main dissemination channels. Thematically, studies on sustainable pedagogical practices, teacher training, school curriculum, and school projects aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 13 (Climate Action) predominate. Therefore, it is important to expand these studies to include interregional comparisons.

Graduado em Ciências Biológicas (Licenciatura e Bacharelado) pelo Centro Universitário São Lucas; Especialista em Gestão Ambiental pela mesma instituição; Mestre em Desenvolvimento Regional e Meio Ambiente pela Universidade Federal de Rondônia (UNIR) e Doutor em Biodiversidade e Biotecnologia pela Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM). Professor do Magistério Superior da Universidade Federal do Amazonas (UFAM) atuando nas áreas de Ciências, Ensino de Botânica e Ciências Ambientais. Membro da Sociedade Botânica do Brasil (SBB).
