This article discusses one of the livelihood activities in which families survive and maintains the local culture of collecting babassu coconut in the region of Bico do Papagaio, north of Tocantins, and aims at a reflective analysis on cooperative livelihood activity on the coconut breakers theme of the region. We will rely on the specific bibliography about the coconut breakers trade and will carry out field research in the cooperative TOBASA, RESEX and cities in the micro-region. We will observe aspects related to the production of objects made with babassu coconut, through a photographic essay carried out by us. The results show the wide variety of products derived from the babassu coconut and the contribution to the local economy.
