The objective of this work is to demonstrate the importance of cartographic orientation and location, emphasizing the need for content to be worked in the initial series of compulsory education. Practical activities were developed in relation to the geographic thematic in Elementary School II at the Altair Severiano Nunes State School, which is located in the South-Central Zone of the City of Manaus (AM). We used maps designed by Datashow, geographic networks built on the floor, compass and GPS to make classes more dynamic. Geotechnologies were emphasized and demonstrated in relation to the daily life of the student, contributing in a way to instigate students to look at Geography in a contemporary way, forgetting the traditional and boring model. The activities were important, because as the way of teaching the content was new, everyone wanted to be part of the development of the elaborated practices, occurring a participation of free will spontaneously by the students who hare managed to progress in learning the content.
