Efeito de exercícios aquáticos na velocidade de marcha usual em idosos: uma revisão sistemática.

Introdução: o efeito dos exercícios aquáticos (EA) na velocidade de marcha usual (VMU) nos idosos é pouco evidenciada. Objetivo: Revisar estudos que abordam o efeito de exercícios realizados em meio líquido na velocidade de marcha em idosos. Método: Esta revisão sistemática seguiu as recomendações propostas pela Cochrane e os critérios de elegibilidade seguiram o modelo PRISMA. A estratégia ‘‘PICOS’’ foi utilizada na análise e construção da problemática do estudo. Foram consultadas as bases de dados: PubMed, Web of Science e Scopus sem limites de ano de publicação. Resultados: Foram selecionados 83 estudos e após aplicação dos critérios de elegibilidade restaram 6. Conclusão: Apesar das diferenças entre os protocolos utilizados, os EA podem ser recomendados para melhorias na capacidade da velocidade de marcha em idosos.
