La relación entre una dieta de calidad y la salud mental de futbolistas profesionales: sugerencias para el rendimiento físico

Resumen

Introducción: La calidad de la dieta y la salud mental afectan directamente al rendimiento deportivo. Sin embargo, la relación entre los aspectos psicológicos y la calidad de la dieta con el rendimiento físico de los futbolistas es aún poco estudiada. Este estudio tiene como objetivo identificar la calidad de los hábitos alimentarios de los futbolistas profesionales y su relación con la salud mental y el rendimiento físico. Métodos: Participaron 27 futbolistas profesionales masculinos. La salud mental se evaluó mediante el Cuestionario de Autoinforme (SRQ-20) y la Escala de Ansiedad y Depresión (DASS), la calidad de los hábitos alimentarios se evaluó mediante pruebas incluidas en las guías alimentarias nacionales y los datos de rendimiento físico se recopilaron mediante un GPS específico. sistema para el fútbol. Resultados: La salud mental se correlacionó con la calidad de los hábitos alimentarios, pero estos parámetros no se correlacionaron con los parámetros de rendimiento físico. Las puntuaciones del cuestionario de salud mental fueron significativamente diferentes cuando los atletas se dividieron en dos grupos según la calidad de sus hábitos alimenticios. Los deportistas consumían pocas frutas, cereales, verduras y hortalizas, mientras que consumían grandes cantidades de carne y huevos. Conclusiones: Dado que los hábitos alimentarios de los jugadores están en contra de las recomendaciones requeridas por el deporte, estos hallazgos refuerzan la importancia de un abordaje multidisciplinario, considerando la complejidad de los determinantes del rendimiento en el fútbol.
