CALL FOR PAPERS - VOLUME 17, ISSUE 2, 2026
DOSSIER: TERMINOLOGY: ANALYSIS, TEACHING, AND TRANSLATION
Terminology, as a field of study, has increasingly consolidated itself as a central area for understanding communication within technical-scientific and professional domains. Its scope encompasses multiple aspects of specialized language, which distinguishes it from other disciplines concerned with scientific communication.
As a scientific field, Terminology unfolds into two fundamental dimensions: epistemology and applied. The former involves the analysis and description of language use in human interaction within specialized contexts, encompassing different discursive materialities (written, oral, and multimodal). The latter includes the development of glossaries, specialized dictionaries, tools for accessing technical-scientific information, as well as reflections on linguistic repertoires, translation practices, and applications in teaching. Within this framework, the present call invites scholars to conduct research in the field of terminological studies. The aim is to provide visibility to research produced at different institutions in Brazil and abroad, encompassing both epistemological and applied perspectives on Terminology.
Submissions are welcome that address, among other topics, the treatment of terminology in educational materials; translation-related issues in documents from different specialized fields; descriptions of linguistic phenomena in technical and scientific contexts; as well as other relevant approaches aligned with the scope of Terminology research.
Original and unpublished articles grounded in Terminology are welcome, provided they fall within one or more of the following thematic areas:
- Terminology and teaching;
- Terminology and Artificial Intelligence;
- Textual and terminological accessibility;
- Terminology and Translation Studies;
- Terminological variation;
