Abstract

This article aims to discuss and analyze the internationalization of higher education in third world countries such as Brazil, in order to contribute to the area of teaching and learning aditional languages. We present a sociocultural and historical perspective of the terms globalization and internationalization discussed by some authors (OCTAVIO IANNI, 2010, JANE KNIGHT, 2003, PHILIP ALTABACH, 2002, 2006, STUART HALL, 2006, MOROSINI, 2006). As well as the interdependence between the advent of globalization, internationalization and the social and cultural identities of the postmodern human being.
