The objective was to describe the experience of a sanitarist nurse linked to the epidemiological
surveillance of a university hospital, in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic. This work brought
important reflections based on the scenario experienced from January 2020 to March 2021, and the locus
of action of this report was extracted from the author's professional routine. It is an experience report of professional practice, with a qualitative approach and reflective character. The importance of health
surveillance during all phases of the Pandemic was verified, acting as a protagonist in decision making. Furthermore, the chaotic scenario provided the opportunity to unveil the individual potentials and reveal
the best (and the worst) of each human being.
