This article aims to describe and analyze the learning of a preceptor, in her experience of participating in the Pedagogical Residency Program, a subproject of the Pedagogy course at the Federal University of Northern Tocantins (UFNT) in Tocantinópolis/TO. For this report, we understand learning as the entire process of participation in society, assuming a sociocultural perspective. Methodologically, this is a qualitative study in the format of an experience report, which focuses on analyzing the formative dynamics of the program that includes collective planning, socialization with the large group, conductions and reflections, in the face of an organization in cycles and in three subgroups that provided residents with practical experiences in Early Childhood Education and the Early Years of elementary school. The experience of participating as a preceptor revealed lessons regarding planning, appreciation of collective planning and willingness to listen to others; broader view of the curriculum, understanding of the objects of knowledge intended in each regency, and mainly the pedagogical intentionality of the planned class.
