ABSTRACT. This review has the objective of presenting the book “The school and the rural education”, by the author and researcher professor Dr. Fernando José Martins, which organizes the work in six chapters built from his studies, research and related experiences to rural education and the elements that constitute it.

Doutoranda no Programa Interdisciplinar em “Sociedade, Cultura e Fronteiras” da Universidade Estadual do Oeste do Paraná – Unioeste; Mestra em “Sociedade, Cultura e Fronteiras” (2015) pelo mesmo programa. Possui especialização em “Linguagem, Cultura e Ensino” (2008) e é graduada em Letras Português e Espanhol (2005). Professora da rede municipal de Foz do Iguaçu.
