An analysis of the contributions of the Educational Psychology discipline to the initial training of mathematics teachers

ABSTRACT. Psychology as an auxiliary science of education contributes to organizing teaching and evaluating the development and learning process of students. In this aspect, we discuss the importance of Educational Psychology for the initial training of Mathematics teachers. We adopted participatory research to analyze a group of students from the Mathematics degree course and the way they acquire knowledge and develop their study activity. For this we use the concepts of collectivity, autonomy, self-regulation from Historical-Cultural Theory. The initial results point to the development of autonomy, which reverberates in collective work.
