ABSTRACT. This article analyzes the measures adopted by the Municipal Department of Education of Prata/MG during the emergency remote teaching implemented between 2020 and 2022, with a focus on rural schools. This qualitative and documentary study was based on pedagogical reports produced by the schools and official institutional documents. The main objective was to understand how the teaching and learning process unfolded in rural contexts during the COVID-19 pandemic, identifying the challenges faced, the strategies adopted, and the possible pedagogical impacts. The data reveal a reality marked by limited access, scarcity of technological resources, and a strong dependence on families to support students' educational activities. They also highlight the efforts of school teams to maintain pedagogical engagement and offer viable alternatives for the continuity of teaching. It is concluded that, despite the adversities, the rural school remained a space of resistance, care, and commitment to the community.
